PS4 Unboxed compared to Xbox One and Killzone Shadowfall

It’s PS4 day in the UK so let’s unbox the PS4 and compare it to the Xbox One and a bit of Killzone Shadowfall included at the end.

See PlayStation 4 accessories http://goo.gl/tgsqzb or visit http://androidizen.com

The PS4 feels very light and certainly has the premium feel to it, the game install times are very very fast and even patching the system took just minutes.

Killzone Shadowfall looks amazing and is a stand out day one title for the PS4.

The graphics on the PS4 are top notch and it’s really hard to see a difference between it and the Xbox One unless you get right upclose then the PS4 is just a bit sharper.

Color reproduction is excellent and Killzone really sets the bar high for a first person title. The PS4 patch system was fast like really fast and installing games takes a fraction of the time of the Xbox One.

Nexus 5 Review Hardware, Software & Games

The Nexus 5, Google’s new smartphone has landed and the Nexus 5 looks like being everything we were promised it would be!

See Nexus 5 Accessories http://goo.gl/k04z9i or visit http://androidizen.com

Powered by Android 4.4 KitKat, you can get this little gem in either black or white and with either 16GB or 32GB of memory.

So, what do we get under the bonnet?
Sample images from the Nexus 5 here: http://goo.gl/KtlCGu

For starters, camera buffs will be thrilled with the new lens on the Nexus 5. Its advanced design means you get more light into the device for brighter night shots and sharper action shots. There’s a quality optical image stabilisation system as well, ideal for combating shake as you’re quickly firing off a few shots.

Apart from less blur and sharper shots. the Nexus 5 has a new HDR+ mode so you can rattle off a burst of photos which will be combined to give you the ace shot. As a daytime camera, the colours are glorious with well defined shadows and at night you get sharpness and less noise.

As a real bonus, the Nexus 5 has Photo Sphere so you can take shots over 360 degrees. Probably time to put the old DSLR in the cupboard!

To display your pictures to best advantage you get a superb 5in display with minimised glare and a wider viewing angle.

The phone itself has an elegant simple design and is one of the lightest on the market at just 130g. The width is only 8.59mm so it’s not going to take up much room in your pocket or bag.

The cutting edge 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor in the Nexus 5 is incredible for gaming, you’ll be the envy of your friends with the speed. Naturally, it’s not only super fast at gaming but also for doing web searches and moving between apps. The 4G/LTE and mega fast wifi will also be great if you use your smartphone for business as well as socially.

It’s great to see the Nexus 5 Android 4.4 Kitkat in operation. As we hoped, it’s fast but easy to use.

Google have pulled out all the stops with the Nexus 5 and the device shows off its power when you install some of the one million apps and games available from the Google Play Store. Loads of them are free and many can be bought for about a dollar, or 69p in the UK.

All our old favourites are included on the Nexus 5, from the useful Google Calendar, Gmail, Chrome, Drive and Google Keep. What you put into your smartphone calendar will transfer into your PC so when you’re out and about you have the same info you would if you were at home.

As for the Google Maps, which have been redesigned, what can we say? With the Nexus 5 you shouldn’t get lost, Turn it on and it will tell you where you are and how to get to where you want to be.

Chromecast UK Review

Chromecast UK Review. It’s time us Brits took a look at what Chromecast is going to offer us when it finally lands. We got our hands on one and here is what we think is the first UK review of Google’s latest innovation.

Chromecast is a small HDMI dongle that allows you to stream content from your Android or iOS device to your TV or any HDMI equipped device.

You can even use the Google Chrome browser to share web tabs to your TV. The Chromecast YouTube and Netflix integration work very well and the picture quality is exceptional.

No word yet on when Chromecast will launch in the UK or the final UK price but when it drops you are going to want to own one of these.

North & South Android Review Galaxy Note 2 & S3 – Androidizen

North & South Android Review every so often a title emerges from the past to say hello again. North & South is back and looking better than ever, the classic Amiga strategy game has been given a make over but underneath the same great game play and deep thinking is still here.

If you’re into Android strategy games, and most of us are, then North & South – The Game is one you’ll want to get, for its nostalgia value as much as anything.

To recap, for those of us in the UK, this is a game about the American Civil War which happened between 1861 and 1865. So you’ve got the Union of Northern States battling the Confederation of Southern States.

Keep up at the back there! History lesson nearly over!

It sounds complicated, but it isn’t. You’re on one side or the other and you’ll soon get into this cartoon-style game which is back with new features.

There are three game modes so you can plan your battles before getting into battlefield mode. As usual, with strategy games, you can pit your wits against the computer, or play against other players online. The multiplayer modes are really good fun and when you add in the weather, ships, Indians and Mexicans you can see there is a lot of replayability in this Android game.

Intuitive controls and exciting action make this the sort of game you can pick up and play or settle down with to a whole night of gaming.

At £1.54, North and South – The Game is by bitComposer Entertainment AG, devs of Chaos Chronicles, Galaxy on Fire and the ever-popular Citadels.
