Asphalt 8 Airborne Review

Asphalt 8 Airborne has been released by Gameloft, Asphalt 8 features a phenomenal number of cars, incredible cutting-edge graphics and just one of the most brilliant racing experiences I’ve ever had on a mobile device.

In Asphalt 8 Airborne your task is to race as fast as you can, grabbing air off jumps and filling your NOS, you’re going to need it if you want to take first position.

There’s over nine exotic locations stretching from Venice to Iceland to London and many more. Lots of different options for career mode and lots of different ways you can race in Asphalt 8 Airborne.

Hidden shortcuts will help you get the edge on your competitors and the use of ghost cars helps to keep things interesting and challenging throughout.

Multiplayer gaming looks very promising but at this time we weren’t able to test it due to technical difficulties. Every time we attempted to start a game, the game room would close. Hopefully this is only a temporary bug and will get fixed pretty quickly.

Asphalt 8 Airborne features in-app purchases as well as a pay upfront and that makes this a slightly difficult pill to swallow. It would have been better if the game was free to play with in-app purchases or was fee-based and no IAP’s.

The graphics when seen on Android 4.3 are honestly the best we have ever come across on a mobile title, really adding to the speed and a visceral experience of playing Asphalt 8 Airborne.

SF Launcher Alpha Android for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – Androidizen

SF Launcher Alpha Android is a new breed of Android Launcher that puts Google Now front and center here tested on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

We’re all for testing things out, that way we can help developers fine tune their apps. The more people who get involved the better, as far as we’re concerned.

So when the opportunity came along to have a look at SF Launcher, currently in alpha mode, which is an earlier version than beta – for anyone who is more familiar with beta – we thought we’d have a look-see.

Developer Alamo Apps says SF Launcher is close to beta but it is still somewhat buggy and they hope to add more features in due course.

For starters, you get a launcher with a header with the time and date on it, which is vital so full marks for that. It comes with a rather nice graphic of the San Francisco shoreline and bridge which is a bit reminiscent of the old British Rail holiday posters of the 1930s. It changes depending on the time of day and if you don’t like it, there is now a London alternative.

Alamo have included configurable tap and long-press options to speed things up and it’s easy to arrange or remove your widgets. Adding favourites is as easy as long-pressing on your chosen apps in the apps list and you can remove them the same way, with a long-press.

This version of SF Launcher is free but if you want to pay 69p or $1.99 you can add custom icon packs.

The guy behind Alamo has provided lots of really interesting info on the Google Play Store, explaining what he is working on with the launcher next and he’s keen to engage with anyone who has ideas.

Top Gear Stunt School Revolution Android Review played on Galaxy Note 2 – Androidizen

Top Gear Stunt School Revolution is the latest Android release for Top Gear, frame rate really suffers which is a shame, looking forward to a patch to help it out.

Spin-offs from telly shows are not always as good as you’d hope they’d be but Top Gear: Stunt School Revolution Pro! is a winner.

As the title advertises, this is an action packed game with free stunts galore and 300 free permits. It operates on tilt control.

Given the popularity of the BBC TV show this is one that’s going to run and run!

There are lots of souped-up cars to choose from and the action moves from locations like the Grand Canyon to escaping Alcatraz. Or you can choose New York, London, Moscow and China, for a truly international experience.

There’s a bit of animal magic as well as you zoom about with a cow on your pickup truck.

You can boast about your high score on Facebook and Twitter and challenge your m8s to outdo you.

There are in-app purchases for Top Gear: Stunt School Revolution Pro! for things like extra Stig Dollars, Gold Nuts and Permits and some people might find that annoying in a paid for game, although at 69p the original outlay won’t break the bank.

It is quite challenging so you will get your money’s worth out of it.
