Samsung Galaxy S6 Review

Galaxy S6 Review – today we are taking a look at the Samsung Galaxy S6 here, not the Edge. I will have a separate video uploaded in a few days explaining the reasons why, but it mostly comes down to the fact that the Galaxy S6 is the one that the majority of users are going to be picking up this year.

Let’s dive into the specs first of all. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is certainly the most feature packed device on the hardware front that we’ve had in quite a while. They’ve moved to a quad HD display, running at 2560 by 1440. That gives a pixel per inch density of around 577ppi. Now one thing I want to mention with this 5.1in display, is this is a quad HD, it’s not 4k. Now you might think to yourself what does that actually matter?

It’s twice the resolution of 1080p and as such it does provide exceptional graphics quality.

The colours here are bright and vibrant and they really pop and you cannot see the pixels even if you tried. But this is a marketing thing at the end of the day. It’s a higher resolution display on the S6 but it certainly isn’t quad HD. That’s just a marketing term that in many respects is misleading people into thinking they’ve got a 4k display in their smartphones.

This time round they are going to Samsung’s in house chip, the Exynos 7 octa 7420 processor is in the Galaxy S6. Now essentially what this is is a 2.1Ghz processor with eight cores in a big-little configuration, backed up with 3gig of RAM.

Using the CPU’s big-little configuration and eight cores, the phone will intelligently kick in the cores that are needed for high power but the rest of the time will fall back onto lower power cores, extending the Samsung Galaxy S6 battery life.

Camera duty this time round is being served by Sony with a 16 mega pixel shooter with an aperture of f1.9.
Now the focal length there is 28mm. Interestingly, we now have optical image stabilisation back.

Samsung has dropped this S6 out for, coming in at the £599 price point feels a little bit high for my liking, especially when we consider many other devices are hitting the £550 mark instead. Is there enough here to justify that extra £50? Well, potentially there is. That quad HD display is really really gorgeous.

The camera, again, beautiful. There’s a lot here to consider bang for a buck. But ultimately time will tell whether consumers are willing to shell out that extra money for what is perceivably not a huge uptick over some of the other manufacturers’ feature offerings.

If you’re in the market for the best smartphone today it is the Samsung Galaxy S6 by a country mile. But if any of the features that Samsung are offering here leave you cold you may want to wait for other devices coming down later in the year.

I hope you’ve really enjoyed watching our review of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Do please let me know in the comments what you think. Let me know your feedback, both about the device and about the review. At the end of the day everything is subjective when it comes to smartphones but in my opinion I believe Samsung has delivered a knockout blow that sets them on a very solid footing for the rest of the year and into 2016.

EA screws Journalists in Battlefield Hardline

EA screws journalists in Battlefield Hardline. The team at Guru3D have stumbled on a humdinger of an issue with Battlefield Hardline that renders the game unplayable if you swap any hardware in your system like your GPU or CPU.

Here’s what EA’s DRM is doing, they don’t just verify the number of PCs you work on / use, nope .. they dare to monitor hardware changes now, which I am sure is a privacy breach on many levels. So once we insert new hardware (CPU / mobo or graphics cards) the hardware id # hash changes and if that happens a couple of times they are rendering your activation invalid.

What a bunch of rubbish ….

If this is the future for EA titles then you guys can forget about VGA performance reviews as EA is rendering that pretty much impossible now. I’ve now been waiting for like three or four hours and we are still locked out of the game. The only way to solve this would be purchasing another key and setting up a secondary account. This means that if we’d like to make a VGA performance review on Battlefield Hardline with a card or 20 we’d need to purchase the game three times.

Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Review

Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Review. You asked for it so we got one! What’s the skinny with the Raspberry Pi 2? Check out our review.

Packing a quad core CPU and 1 gig of ram the Raspberry Pi 2 sets the bar very high for others to follow and hits its stride with more performance power per watt than we have ever seen.

Offering an identical form factor to the previous model B+ the Raspberry Pi 2 boots in 22 seconds and the quad core CPU really flies in everything we throw at it.

The Raspberry Pi 2 is the maker’s board of choice. I would expect to see the community move quickly to take advantage of this extra performance power for their projects.

Syder Arcade Android Review Galaxy Note 2 & S3 – Androidizen

Syder Arcade Android, Fabulous graphics can make a good game even better so we sat down to play Syder Arcade HD expecting that we’d find it gripping.

And we did. For 77p at the Google Play Store, this offering from Studio Evil is good value.

Syder Arcade is a lot of fun if you like shoot ’em ups, and the action is fast and furious with plenty of opportunities to get it wrong. We love arcade games, our first foray into gaming was on the old Amiga, a wonderful introduction and this game brings back many happy memories with its starships and aliens and evocative soundtrack.

There are four difficulty levels and you get badges for your skills to boost your scores. There are six campaign levels and a survival mode level. If you get the shooting wrong – then you die.

This is lovely on the Android tablet or smartphone. You do need a dual core CPU but if you run into any technical difficulties you can email the devs. Tip: shut down other applications before you get started, that might help. It works well on the Nexus 7, lower spec devices might struggle a bit.

There are no nagging ads and no inapp purchases so although 77p is perhaps a bit more than you’d want to spend on a game, you do get the whole thing, there are no after purchase add-ons. Visit our website: http://androidizen.com

In this review we check out the Galaxy Note 2 Hardware, Camera, S-pen, Settings & Jelly Bean

The Galaxy Note 2 features a 5.5 inch RGB Super Amoled display with a Quad core CPU running at 1.6 Ghz and 2 gig of system ram and either 16, 32, or 64gig of storage memory. Shooting photos and video on the 8mpx camera and some cool new slow motion video controls exclusive to the Galaxy Note 2 and your looking at a fantastic phone / tablet device.

Having spent more time with the Galaxy Note 2 I have to say it’s very well made, the camera is excellent identical to the S3 and although it can feel a bit big in your pocket the extra screen space and S-pen make using the Galaxy Note 2 on the move a pleasure.

If you haven’t checked one out yet I would definitely recommend that you do, it’s a unique device that hits all the right marks. The Galaxy Note 2 is also a fantastic gaming device, the extra large screen and super fast quad core processor push even the most demanding games to their fullest.

The RGB screen on the Galaxy Note 2 is one of the best I’ve ever seen Colors pop like never before and black are deep and rich making movie watching a joy.

Go check out the Galaxy Note 2 at your local store and try one on for size, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
