Samsung Galaxy S3 NFC Near Field Communication demonstration

Near Field Communication and the Samsung Galaxy S3, here is a demo of how it works with NFC Tags. a 6 minute Youtube video showing you how to use NFC apps and the tags with the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Also of note is that Samsung have branded NFC in the S3 handset as S beam S Beam – The Near Field Communication transfer moves on from the standard ICS based NFC now tapping  phone##Q##s together enables transfer  in a faster and more user friendly way.

We love Near Field Communication on the Galaxy S3 not only does it work but it##Q##s fast and responsive in every day use reading tags and making contactless payments.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 really delivers the goods, we cant wait to see all the creative uses for Near Field Communication that people come up with.

  1. Yeah, but does anyone actually use NFC on a daily basis? I’ve had my GS3 for a couple of months now and I haven’t used NFC even once….

  2. u are suck

  3. I’ve got a NFC tags setup at home, car and phone to sort out my battery usage :)

  4. Lol, it didn’t happen in iPhone 5!

  5. amazon

  6. Could you share your animated background please? Sorry if my english sucks.

  7. Well well apple… Android has NFC now… Where’s yours?

  8. As far as I know it’s from ~80 bits to ~1024 bits. At least this is what I’ve seen at NFC tags vendors. Which is enough for Wi-fi activation / passwords, launching apps and task automatization. I don’t think NFC is just a passing fad but I’m kind of frustrated that almost no one uses it.

  9. They don’t even have SD slots.

  10. I still don’t understand what NFC is.. Cant get my head round it!

  11. 31 people have Apple devices

  12. Irrelevant question here….. how much does the power last for?? (not on standby)

  13. Passbook is better than NFC. Any day!!!!!! New tech like what besides bragging about NFC?

  14. Seriously phones do enough, the only thing I hate is the battery. Need more money going in to RnD for batteries, atleast rapid charging batteries.

  15. Near field communication, imagine short range bluetooth, put the phone near the little emitter embedded in the card, the phone connects to it and reads the data and does a task, not just limited to phones either, I can pay for my bus fare via NFC using a little card I scan!

  16. If they kept the glass back they could do it. But it seems to me like Apple has a fetish for Aluminium

  17. In Boston me use nfc cards for subway

  18. nice to know

  19. very much agreed

  20. ages

  21. lol

  22. correct

  23. exactly

  24. very cool

  25. 5:05 Guess again!!! lol..
    Nice video!

  26. They actually do have NFC on Apple, it just doesn’t come built on. The App is called BUMP. I still prefer my S3 over an iPhone though.

  27. BUMP its not NFC, they use geolocalization to know that 2 phones are close together then use the sensors to feel the movement to know when to transfer and to whom

  28. If Apple has NFC, it’ll only connect with Apple devices, not others. That because of the closed source iOS. Take a look at bluetooth on iPhone, it only can connect with other iPads, iPhones, iPod touches

  29. Apple is shit

  30. is it possible to setup an NFC tag to store your wifi password and share it with anyone who touches it and login them in so if someone came to my house and placed their phone against my tag they were automatically logined into my wifi without me phyiscally giving them my password?? i know its a long question lol

  31. Why would anyone want an iphone

  32. Jjjbb

  33. i would like to know the same

  34. now 44 people have iphone 5′s

  35. Fun Fact: the first mobile phone maker ever to implant NFC tech was Nokia on their flagship phones running Symbian back then, since then, everyone else has caught onto the ‘way of the future’ bandwagon and riding along happily :D

…well, they must have forgotten to pick up Apple for the ride… oh well :V

  36. It is possible :)
1st you’ll need Tadstands “Tagstand Writer” head over to the playstore and nab it!
    2. some tags (they sell them right from the app)
    3. and finally, unfortunately, ye will have to email or PM me for the link to my tutorial because Google has disabled the ability to place links in YouTube’s comments section. [email protected]

My mobile is a Galaxy Note II, so some prompts may be different from what ye get.

  37. Check my reply to Devon

  38. I’m not too crazy about crashing two mobile phones together just to get them to remotely communicate xD I mean like, who wants to smash their 700+ usd phone against another? (and you do have to mash them kind of hard to get the apps on both ends to work, resulting in near-drops).

BUMP isn’t NFC but it is a good alternative for those who don’t have an NFC chip (basically just an ULV Bluetooth unit), if I remember correctly, all BUMP does is open AD-HOC/peer2peer ports between the two phones.

  39. Well, I’ve always been a big fun of iPhone, but some time ago, one of my family members has showed me theirs Samsung Galaxy s 3, she showed me a few things.
My first reaction – WTF she has a better phone than me!!!
In my opinion the reason that SG3 seems better than iPhone is because mainly of the screen, such a giant screen with high ppi seems so good!
Also the normal thing that iPhone doesn’t have, sd cards for tons of memory and easy to switch batteries, now i want a SG3 not iPhone!

  40. Check out Xperia Z! You’ll be blown off. Way powerful and better than iphone5 and GS3!!

  41. Sorry, i made a mistake, i meant Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and they look exacly the same so i made that mistaken name, and it has 2 gb RAM, Full HD screen and pro graphics, and you can do few things at the same time so i want that phone and not Xperia Z.

  42. I miss the old apple, iphone 4s and 5 realease was a FAIL with capital F.

  43. No where to be found, they’re still basking in the glory of finally actually adopting 4G when everyone else had it forever.

  44. Can you reprogram the stickers? Thx

  45. what happens if i put my subway nfc chip near to my phone . Can i use my phone as nfc chip?

  46. oh yay :) lol okay

  47. anybody know how to use nfc in samsung galaxy3 mini?? Please someone help?
