Windows 10 intercepting data from Google Chrome?

So I was catching up with some Windows 10 news this morning when this happened…. Visiting the Microsoft App store in Google Chrome forced the Windows 10 App store to fire up the list on the PC. Now I’m not saying this is a bad thing but should Microsoft really be acting on data inside Google Chrome in this way?

If it was Edge Browser I wouldn’t be bothered but this does feel a little jarring and outside the expected experience, especially given it’s firing a pop-up app on the OS with NO dialogue first to check user consent.
