Top firms get chance to join MHL Experience program

Top companies are getting the chance to learn more about the benefits of MHL technology by joining the MHL Experience program.
Among the first participants on the starting line are SEGA the makers of Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio; PowerA who are the makers of MOGA; Nyko the inventors of gaming consules, MobiSystems whose Office Suite 7 is installed on more than 100million devices in 205 countries, Green Throttle who have brought big screen gameplay to the Android platform and FilmOn.TV whose 500 channels are full of unique and engaging content.
The idea is to give a good insight into how MHL allows for the streaming of full HD content from smartphones and other hand-held devices to TVs and larger displays, while charging the device.
Invitations went out to brands who innovate on content creation, video services, developing mobile games and applications and manufacturers of TV and mobile accessories.
Developers Experience MHL
Judy Chen, MHL president said that new activities created by the Experience Program members were transforming Android smartphones into set-top boxes, game consoles and PCs.
She said it would encourage consumers to use their smartphones “in new and compelling ways.”
The MHL Consortium was founded by Nokia, Samsung, Silicon Image, Sony and Toshiba with the aim of establishing the technology as the must-go-to choice for audio and video connectivity for mobile devices.
It delivers up to 1080p60 uncompressed video and eight channels of digital audio, at the same time as powering the mobile device. This means that users can not only link their MHL-enabled devices to larger screens to watch HD videos, link-up with friends to play games and use it in the business environment for giving presentations, all that exciting content can be accessed on the move.
