Facebook Home Is a Nightmare

Well this was almost expected, Facebook Home is a mess and not a very entertaining one either. A real shame they spent a lot of time on it and it’s not turned out to be very compelling. I can’t see anyone but the die hard Facebook use buying a phone with Facebook Home built in. A shame it had real potential.

Stunning is the only word we can find to describe Next Launcher 3D, with its gorgeous Android interface.

You can add, set and delete any home screen in seconds. After choosing an app you just slide to select other apps, it’s fast and accurate.

Customising the home screen is easy and it’s your choice where you put widgets, icons and folders on the screen, with a variety of 3D themes and wallpapers.

You can rotate the dock to switch between home screen, editing and preview and it’s easy to corral your icons to fit you own needs.

Next Launcher 3D includes a range of popular widgets including music and clock. The devs, GO, are releasing a calendar, task manager, weather and notification widgets soon as well as new 3D themes and live wallpaper.

If you’re dual-core then you’ll get the best benefit from this app which is £10.53 so not cheap, but if you download the free trial version you’ll almost certainly want the full one. GO are the sort of devs who are constantly releasing useful updates so it’s the sort of app that will grow in time.

Nova Launcher 2 Here is a look at my Clean minimalist Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or S3 home screen as you can see it##Q##s a blank slate with swipes to reveal the key parts of the Galaxy Note 2 interface.

I used Nova Launcher 2 to remove all the clutter and add swipe gesture to reveal things as and when I want them.

With Nova Launcher you can take full control of the look and feel of your Android device, it##Q##s so cool having gestures to control bits of the screen UI.

The ability to scale screen icons really helps to fit all your stuff on one home screen if you want to.

TSF Shell for Android is a quality launcher, you have to pay for it unlike other Android Launchers but on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 it really flies and has that wow factor when you show your friends. It##Q##s like having a desktop experience but on your phone.
