PlayStation 4 Remote Play with PS Vita – in this review we take a look at PS Vita Remote Play using PlayStation 4 to stream KillZone: Shadowfall and Resogun directly to the Vita over local wifi.
It works incredibly well and is a feather in the cap of the PS4. It works well with zero lag. There is a slight softening of the image on the PS Vita due to its lower resolution but all-in-all it’s a very impressive achievement for the PlayStation 4.
Sadly we were unable to get Remote Play working over the internet at a friend’s house. This is probably due to ports needing opening on the routers. We will keep experimenting with that side of the PlayStation 4 / PS Vita remote play functionality.
Over local wifi setup is a snap and it works flawlessly, note though only games can be streamed to the PSVita. If you try Netflix on BBC iPlayer you will be prevented due to copyright restrictions, which is a shame IMO.
If you have a PlayStation 4, Sony have now given you a very good reason to own a PS Vita and vice versa.
