Phones4U enters administration. My theory of what happened to Phones4U is that this was done to give the new combined Currys-Carphone the best possible launch with no competition.

It’s strange that all this should happen at a time when DSG needs to get rid of the Phones4U concessions in their Currrys PCWorld stores.

Further, this creates a weaker market for consumers with less competition, just what the mobile networks want.

The entire Currys-Carphone deal should be halted pending a new investigation into market competition. We lost three and gained one that only competes with itself and the networks, and the networks dictate the terms! ****
