Minecraft sold to Microsoft for $2.4 billion – Androidizen

Minecraft has been sold to Microsoft for $2.4 billion dollars, making Notch and the Minecraft team very rich indeed.

The founders will leave the company and Minecraft. It’s going to be interesting to see what Microsoft does with Minecraft next.

This is good move for Microsoft and gets them back in the game – so to speak – as far as big exclusive titles are concerned.

Hopefully it will also mean Minecraft 2 and expanded resources for the Minecraft team.

As for Notch and the other Minecraft founders, they are off to work on something new and spend some of that hard earned money. ****
