LG Nexus 4 wireless charging orb

If you think it looks a bit like Palm’s Touchstone you’d be right. The sliced orb is very reminiscent of the earlier wireless charging orb.

Nicely made in soft plastic, it won’t scratch the back of the Nexus 4 and the docking angle makes it easy to see the smartphone’s face while it is charging because of the magnets inside the phone and the docking unit. Portrait or landscape mode of charging, the choice is yours.

Charging pads for Nokia’s Lumia phones should also work on the Nexus 4 because Google is using the Qi wireless charging standard.

Imported from Android 4.2 is Daydream, a Palm innovation, so that you can keep up with Google Currents news or look at photos while the Nexus 4 is charging.

Priced around £37.55 in the UK, shipping times are expected to be something like a week and it’s timed pretty well, as the popular Nexus 4 has only just been restocked on the Play Store after Google underestimated demand for it.
