HTC are doing their hardest to screw up the Vive VR launch including shipping DOA units then expecting the customer to ship back for repair! Total bullshit from HTC as usual. Reddit Thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4drs6w/htc_vive_customer_support_is_terrible/

Galaxy Note 5 Problems with the Stylus Ejector means another flaw in Samsung’s high end products. The Note 5 should be Samsung’s best device for business customers. Sadly, if you out the stylus in the wrong way round it breaks the detector and gets physically stuck in the Note 5.

Zendure A3 External Battery Charges 2 devices at the same time from one 9600mah external battery pack. Zendure sent me their new A3 external battery to take a look at. It sure packs a big charge for a small device but it’s not without some weight. Nice to look at and does what it claims perfectly well – the Zendure is a worthwhile purchase. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zendure-2nd-Portable-Charger-9600mAh/dp/B00YL6EDCU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1440491888&sr=8-4&keywords=zendure

So I was catching up with some Windows 10 news this morning when this happened…. Visiting the Microsoft App store in Google Chrome forced the Windows 10 App store to fire up the list on the PC. Now I’m not saying this is a bad thing but should Microsoft really be acting on data inside Google Chrome in this way? If it was Edge Browser I wouldn’t be bothered but this does feel a little jarring and outside the expected experience, especially given it’s firing a pop-up app on the OS with NO dialogue first to check user consent.

Cortana – Microsoft’s answer to Google Now and Siri has leaked. The guys and gals at Android Police have got hold of the APK and you can download it now at their website. http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/07/17/fully-functional-microsoft-cortana-app-leaks-ahead-of-official-release-apk-download/ Cortana provides most of the functionality that Windows Mobile features and even has graceful integration with the Android OS. Microsoft are on a bit of a roll of late and their efforts to bring their software and services across to other systems is welcome, Cortana feels great to use. Microsoft Cortana is going to be a huge addition to Android especially if as rumoured Microsoft is speaking to Samsung and others to pre-load Microsoft Cortana onto their handsets.

So it looks like the BBC are currently giving the Windows 10 store a pass as far as a native iPlayer app is concerned. Given the BBC is a public broadcaster that has put iPlayer on so many devices it seems wacky they would give the largest desktop install by far a miss. Maybe they feel that web-based access to iPlayer is sufficient? Well it won’t be for all that long. Native rules as far as the majority of users are concerned, given the fact that people are used to apps on Android and iOS. The BBC is not doing itself any favors by ignoring a massive chunk of the UK market.
